Montreal drummer Richard Irwin has spent his career playing jazz, pop, rock, and every other style all over the world with artists such as Nikki Yanofsky, Elizabeth Shepherd, Mark Kingswood, Vic Vogel, Dawn Tyler Watson, the Directors, Al McLean, Jessica Vigneault, Remi Bolduc, the Chateauguay Tenors, Julie Lamontagne, Jean-Pierre Zanella, Jeff Johnston, Florence K, Hadrian’s Wall, Matt Herskowitz, Joel Miller, Christine Jensen, ONJ, and Bruno Pelletier, to name a few. He has performed at hundreds of events and venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Blue Note, Birdland, L’Olympia, the Bell Centre, the North Sea Jazz Fest, the NAMM show, Montreal Drumfest, Ralph Angelilo Drumfest, and has shared the stage with international artists David Kikoski, Jean-Michel Pilc, Dave Liebman, Celine Dion, Randy Bachman Gary Smulyan, Ingrid Jensen, Paulo Ramos, Chucho Valdez, Donny McCaslin, Enrico Pieranunzi, and Freddie Hubbard. He has appeared on over 50 albums, including Jennifer Gasoi’s 2014 Grammy winning Throw a Penny in the wishing Well.

Montalvo Flamenko Jazz (formerly Pachuco Flamenko Jazz) is a project led by Jheinsen Montalvo (El Pachuco), Montreal guitarist, of Salvadorian origin, having learned Flamenco Guitar in Andalusia (Spain) and from international masters. It is a group of variable ensembles: quintet, quartet, trio or duo. Inspired by the flamenco/jazz movement, it features original music after his self-titled EP. The repertoire consists of bulerías, alegrías, tangos and other ''palos flamenco'' with jazzy arrangements which allow the remarkable improvisation of high caliber musicians. We find the spirit and rhythm of flamenco alongside the sophisticated jazz harmony.

Alex Bellegarde’s dynamic Tuesday jam session has become one of Montreal’s hippest weekly jazz events. The first set fires up with Bellegarde and his trio, playing host to a range of well known talents from the Montreal scene as well as musicians from out of town. The jam opens in the second set, to any jazz musician with the confidence to step up and play…there’s an unspoken rule though: “If you can’t keep up, you shouldn’t be on stage”. If you’re a fan of the acoustic sound of guitars, saxophone and upright bass, then you’re in for a treat. On the menu, authentic swing and a few seldomly heard classic songs. Eclectic Django (for the great Django Reinhardt) perform an American and European repertoire of pre-war jazz, but don’t be surprised if you recognize a classic French tune or two - jazz music permitting all incursions. This early evening event has been animating the Wednesdays of the Dièse Onze for six years already - and there’s no signs of quitting! Le saxophoniste Jean-Pierre Zanella et le pianiste et compositeur James Gelfand joueront un musique de Noël arrangée par James Gelfand avec des pièces du répertoire populaire, religieux et autochtone. James a fait pendant 20 ans un concert de Noël à la Chapelle historique du Bon Pasteur. Ils vont donc reprendre quelques-unes de ses magnifiques adaptations des airs de Fêtes. Les arrangements de James fait en sorte que ça semble être des pièces originales, donc du James Gelfand. Avec le bassiste Rémi-Jean LeBlanc et le batteur Jim Doxas.

Marianne Trudel is a multi-talented pianist, composer, improvisor, and arranger. At once energetic and passionate, her music cross-cuts a wide swath of musical interests. As a performer, she pursues an active career in a variety of settings ranging from solo performance to more intimate duos and trios, and larger groups as quintet, septet, Trifolia and large ensembles. She has played in Canada, United States, France, Spain, Germany, and Mexico. Recipient of the Prix Étoiles Galaxie de Radio-Canada (Montreal Jazz Festival 2007), Marianne Trudel has presented multiple artistic projects that not only bring her considerable skills to the fore but also her keen sense of creativity. She has shared the stage with, among others, in jazz and improvised music: Chucho Valdes, Mark Feldman, Evan Parker, Tony Malaby, René Lussier, Mark Dresser, Kenny Wheeler, Ingrid Jensen, Jon Wikan, Gerry Hemingway, William Parker, Mark Helias, Jean Derome, Karen Young, George Lewis, and Muhal Richard Abrams. In Chanson française and World / traditional music: Charles Aznavour, Lena Chamamyan, Farida, Juan Carlos Caceres and Laura Risk. She has composed and arranged for the radio of Radio-Canada, the American composers Orchestra (NYC), the ensemble OktoEcho, the Henri Mancini Institute Orchestra (Los Angeles, California), the McGill Jazz Orchestra, as well as scoring for short films. Her previous studies have included a Master in Ethnomusicology (Université de Montréal), a Bachelor in Jazz Performance (McGill University), and numerous workshops in North America and Europe.

Erik Hove is an alto saxophonist who plays a wide variety of jazz, improvised, and contemporary music. Born in Vancouver, he has lived in Montreal and New York. While in New York, he formed the turntable-jazz group Soundclash, which won the Montreal OFF festival's Francois Marcaurelle prize and released a disc with Effendi records. He also heads various trios and quartets.

Damien Levasseur est un guitariste de jazz manouche et professeur de musique. À 16 ans il remporte le 1er prix du concours du festival de Jazz de Montréal et également le Grand prix de la guitare de Montréal trois ans plus tard en 2010. Plusieurs guitaristes influencent son jeu; du son authentique de Django à l’approche moderne de Biréli Lagrène. Principalement intéressé par le jazz, Damien s’inspire aussi bien du swing des années 30 que du jazz moderne des guitaristes plus jeunes tel que Kurt Rosenwinkel. En 2012, Damien Levasseur crée en compagnie du guitariste Charles Fréchette le groupe de jazz manouche Tcha-Badjo; projet qui avait pour but de mêler voyage et musique. Après 2 ans de tournée, 300 concerts, 35 pays et 3 albums, Damien continue de voyager et de partager sa passion de la musique à travers le monde.

De formation universitaire en interprétation jazz, musicien professionnel depuis plus de 20 ans, Alexandre Côté, saxophoniste, compositeur et arrangeur, s’illustre entre autres avec Alain Caron Big Band, le Montreal Jazz Big Band, Lorraine Desmarais Big Band, Normand Guilbault, Vic Vogel Jazz Big Band, Félix Stussi et Ray Anderson, Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble…Son talent et sa versatilité lui permettent de réaliser plusieurs tournées au Canada et à l’étranger. Il perfectionne également son jeu avec Chris Potter à New York en 2001, et Donny McCaslin à New York en 2008. Musicien versatile, il collabore à près de 40 albums, 11 d’entre eux gagnants ou nominés dans les galas annuels canadiens en jazz. Alexandre Côté est Lauréat 2011 du Grand Prix Jazz TD du Festival International de Jazz de Montréal. Il est l’auteur de 2 albums Transitions (2011) et Portraits d’ici (2013), louangés par la critique
