Thursday 18 07:00 PM | JEAN-SéBASTIEN WILLIAMS TRIO
Jean-Sebastien Williams has played an important role in music both in Montreal and internationally with his remarkable work as a composer, guitarist and musician. As a film composer he has worked on different shorts, feature films and ads. Amongst his influences are Mika Levi and Jóhann Jóhannsson. Like them, he likes to push the boundariesof what music can do, by challenging the traditions and experimenting. Williams sees the score as one of the characters, inseparable from the visual and often blurs the line between sound design and film music composition. In 2019 he was nominated for best original song at the Academy Screen Awards for the film “Sashinka”.
As a guitar player, his unique talent has led him to work with acclaimed artists such as Elisapie, Yannick Rieu, Térez Montcalm, Alejandra Ribera, Socalled and others. In 2019 Williams released his first album From a Plane which was recorded with Rob Heaney (Patrick Watson, Barr Brothers) and has been nominated for best debut album at the Independant Music Awards.

Friday 19 07:00 PM | MISC

As early as 1988, Down Beat, the American bible of jazz, ranked him amongst the 20 most promising sax players in the world along side Branford Marsalis, Joe Lovano and Courtney Pine. Thursday 25 07:00 PM | JEAN-MICHEL PILC EN DUO AVEC RéMI BOLDUC
Jean-Michel Pilc (born 1960 in Paris, France) is a self-taught jazz pianist currently residing in Montreal. His technical ability has drawn comparisons to Michel Petrucciani, McCoy Tyner, and Cecil Taylor. Of particular note is Pilc's left-hand technique, which provides an almost ambidextrous approach to the keyboard. In addition to his own projects, he is a member of a group led by drummer Ari Hoenig. https://www.jeanmichelpilc.com
Playing that is both intense and under control, breathtaking precision, magnetic stage presence, refreshing original compositions: that’s the formidable package offered by Rémi Bolduc, one of Canada’s best jazz saxophonists. With his band, the Rémi Bolduc Jazz Ensemble, he composes and plays numbers that convey his formidable energy and spontaneity, allowing his organic sound to breathe freely. A versatile and dynamic artist, Rémi Bolduc performs regularly with some of our most renowned jazz musicians such as Kenny Werner, Ben Monder, Seamus Blake, Lorraine Desmarais, Vic Vogel, Thom Gossage, Ralph Bowen, Jerry Bergonzi and others. He teaches saxophone, improvisation and ensemble classes at Montreal’s McGill University. Rémi Bolduc plays on a Yamaha saxophone and D'addario reeds. https://www.mcgill.ca/music/remi-bolduc

Thursday 01 07:00 PM | ARIANE RACICOT TRIO
